Skull Base Tumor Surgery
This includes benign tumors like Pituitary Macroadenomas, which affect the proper functioning of the pituitary gland (a small gland located at the base of the brain). This gland is part of the endocrine system, so it is responsible for producing and regulating a series of hormones. Similarly, Dr. Sheila specializes in complex skull base meningiomas and posterior fossa tumors.
Endonasal Endoscopic Surgery
This type of skull base surgery is performed using a thin tube called an endoscope that is inserted through the patient’s nose. Endonasal endoscopic surgery is used to treat tumors found at the base of the skull. This is a less aggressive surgery than open skull surgery; with a much faster recovery time and less pain.
